How to Use HS Codes to Find Suppliers & Buyers

Home / Blog / How to Use HS Codes to Find Suppliers & Buyers

Every traded product has an HS (Harmonized System) code. By searching trade data for your product's HS code, you can instantly list every company exporting or importing it — the fastest way to find suppliers and buyers.

Find your product's HS code

HS codes are 6 digits internationally (with country extensions). The first two digits are the chapter, the next two the heading, and the last two the subheading. See our full HS code guide with all 21 sections and 99 chapters.

Use the code to search trade data

  1. Find the code for your product (e.g. coffee = 0901, solar panels = 8541, T-shirts = 6109).
  2. Search shipments filtered by that HS code.
  3. Split by direction — exporters (to find suppliers) or importers (to find buyers).
  4. Filter by country to focus on your target market.

Browse by product

We have built ready commodity views for dozens of products — e.g. coffee trade data, solar panel trade data, garment trade data. Each shows the top exporting and importing countries with real shipment counts.
