Trade Database ("we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and takes data protection seriously. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website and Services, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. Contact us any time at query@tradedatabase.net.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide. When you place an order, request a sample, subscribe to our newsletter, or contact us, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, company name, country, and the contents of your message or order.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the website we automatically collect technical data such as your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed and referring pages, using cookies and similar technologies.

2. How we use your information

to process and deliver your orders and respond to your enquiries.
to provide, operate, maintain and improve the website and Services.
to send you order updates and, where you have opted in, marketing and offers.
to analyse usage and improve performance and security.
to comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and third-party analytics to understand how visitors use the website. Depending on our current configuration these may include Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. These providers may set their own cookies and process data under their own privacy policies. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling them may affect some website features.

4. Payments

When you make a payment, it is processed by our third-party payment gateway Razorpay (and/or other payment providers we may use). Your payment details — such as card number, UPI ID or net-banking credentials — are collected and processed directly by the payment provider under their own privacy policy and PCI-DSS-compliant security. We do not receive or store your full card or banking details on our servers. We receive only limited transaction information (such as a payment reference, status and the amount) needed to confirm and fulfil your order.

5. Legal bases for processing

Where applicable law (such as the GDPR) requires it, we process personal data on the basis of your consent, the performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and improving our business, and compliance with legal obligations.

6. About the trade data we sell

Our datasets are compiled from shipping manifests, customs filings and other trade records and contain business-level trade information (for example company names, business addresses and shipment details). This is B2B trade documentation, not consumer data. If you are a business representative and wish to query or request removal of a business record that relates to you, contact us at query@tradedatabase.net and we will review the request in line with applicable law.

7. How we share information

We do not sell your personal contact information. We may share it with trusted service providers who help us operate the business (such as hosting, email, payment and analytics providers), and where required by law or to protect our rights. These providers are only permitted to use the data to provide services to us.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting and reporting requirements.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to access, correct, update or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, and unsubscribe from marketing at any time. To exercise these rights, email query@tradedatabase.net.

11. International transfers

We operate internationally, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.

12. Children

Our Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Third-party links

The website may contain links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.
